I frequently attend dances in the Greater Boston area. Our social club events, especially the dances, are well attended. Members and non-members come from as far away as Maine and Providence. Over the past 2 years I've produced unique dances, each with their own character and music theme. Experienced dancers and beginners have a great time connecting with friends and meeting new people.

I have been a member of a local dating club and an on-line dating service, which is fine if you want to date people whom you know almost nothing about. Sitzundjiber offers a very different approach to meeting professional singles. We get to know each other at wine tastings, arts performances, gourmet cooking classes, and we meet with professional singles after work - a few of the many events we host every month in Greater Boston and surrounding cities. I've planned and/or hosted many events myself. By far, Sitz is the best way to really get to know people.

As a social venue, Sitzundjiber offers a great outlet to mix with fun, intelligent and socially-minded people in addition to providing a variety of events every month from artistic experiences to wine tastings. When I first joined the Club, more than four years ago, I joined the membership committee and still serve on that committee today.

Having chaired the Sitzundjiber book club for many years, and having attended most of the Sitz dances and other socials, I'm a good spokesperson for the quality of our membership (fun loving, intelligent, socially-minded people) and the weekly activities in our events calendar. When I was sponsored into membership I knew Sitzundjiber is not a dating club. In my opinion, it is Greater Boston's best social club for professionals 45 and older. We connect with long-term friends and meet new people at numerous events every month, all planned and hosted by volunteers in the club. So I decided to make the most of it and joined the planning committee myself. I've made many lasting friends, and frankly, I plan dates to wine tastings, house parties and arts performances. We meet professional singles after work at upscale venues. I log on to the Sitzundjiber Event Calendar regularly.

Sitzundjiber has been the source of many lasting friendships. We hike, ski, sail, dance, cook, and enjoy the arts together. Our house parties, open to members and their guests, are my favorite events. Though we market ourselves as a "social club for professionals 45 and older" I'm not surprised that younger people are showing the most interest lately. Maybe a few years of "winking" at near strangers on dating web sites hasn't been the best way to meet people.

I joined Sitz in 2010. I wanted to join a social club for professionals 45 and older who are active and fun. I led a hike last fall with fellow Sitzers who enjoyed having my dog run along with us. It is so easy to run an event! Between hiking, kayaking, and skiing, plus all the wonderful private parties, I am having a blast! Not to mention the dances where we have record turnouts for the great bands, there is always something to keep you moving!

As a sole operator of my design business my work is never done. Thanks to Sitzundjiber, I am motivated to leave my work at the office and enjoy the camaraderie of others at so many activities. One week it may be a dance in Greater Boston, another hiking, yet another sailing and frequently just joining others at a social club brunch or getting together with single professionals after work. After being a member for a relatively short time, I was asked and have accepted the responsibility of co-president and am delighted by the enthusiasm and energy of so many volunteers. I have greatly benefited from the energy and support of my fellow professionals.

As a new Sitzundjiber member, I've become an avid volunteer by hosting wine tastings and cooking classes for members and their guests. The Sitz group is all about having good times with good friends. I started coming to the public events prior to joining and found everyone to be very welcoming and interesting. We meet professional singles after work in Greater Boston and organize social club brunches. Despite my busy schedule I put these events in iCalendar often throughout the year. Our events calendar gets more hits from me than any other social web site I use. When I finally became an official member, I already felt like I was part of this group, and have since made very good friends. And guess what? I have been telling all my friends about Sitz!
